Some good results for Zimbabwe ahead of Saturday’s first one-dayer of the West Indies tour, as they won both warm-up games against Antigua and Barbuda. Tuesday’s match resulted in a 4-wicket win, although a scarily familiar top-order wobble may worry some, while the visitors picked up a 51-run win in Wednesday’s match.
Zim manager Andy Pycroft has been talking up Zimbabwe’s chances on this tour to anyone who will listen, while the West Indies have problems of their own at the moment - with only 3 days to go to the first match, they have yet to name a team or captain, with WI players facing a deadline later today to sign central contracts with the WICA. That uncertainty means that if ever there was a chance for Zim to score some morale-boosting wins against another ICC full member, this may be it.
