CricInfo have an interview with Zim captain Prosper Utseya, looking at his playing history and elevation to captain, while studiously avoiding any comment on ZC itself. Well worth a read. He's particularly optimistic about the future:
"There is a bright future ahead of us. As I mentioned, the good thing is that ours is a young side that is willing to learn and play cricket for the love of it. All we need to do is make sure we try and play cleanly and adjust to Test cricket. And we need to play more games, and when we do, we need to play well."
Given their next opponents will be South Africa - currently the #2 ODI side - they'll need a good bit of luck to go with that optimism (although with SA's current injury problems, now's as good a time to play them as ever).

Now that I've recovered from our fall-out from your 'Comparing & Contrasting' article which I still think was a very disgraceful piece, I would like you to resolve a VERY BIG dispute between the two teams(ZIM & BANG) over who is 'the BETTER team'.
Nafees,Bashar & Khaled were quoted as having said over a number of times that they ought to be or are indeed the better team while for Zim, K.Curran did likewise after the series. Now, the big question is,'who isn't being honest amongst all these guys & on what SERIOUS grounds is Mr. Curran basing his argument?'
Prosper's claims that he doesnt 'know whats happening in the ZC adminstration' are just similar to what Taibu was doing in his early days when the 'money' clouded his thinkig.
Thanx for the god work.
That Zimbabwe won the series. That's the simplest measure of "who was best", it's the measure that counts for the ODI rankings, and by that measure Zimbabwe at the moment come out ahead.
Asking a dedicated Zimbabwe fan who the better team is isn't likely to get an unbiased answer, but in general, I honestly think the two sides are fairly evenly matched - home advantage helped Zim to the series this time around, and I would bet that home advantage will help Bangladesh win the next series between the two sides in November (although I live in hope). Bangladesh didn't help their cause this time around by being complacent - they didn't expect Zim to put up much of a fight, and didn't know how to handle them when they did. I doubt they'll make that mistake next time.
