Harare's leagues have been running for two weeks now, but Bulawayo's are just getting underway. There'll be a full programme of matches in League 2 this weekend, with the four League One teams (Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo Athletic Club, Emakhandeni and a provincial Development side) taking part in a Twenty20 competition at Bulawayo Athletic Club. Provincial manager Clement Mahachi explained the decision to have only four teams in the top league:
"Our main emphasis this season is not on the quantity of players in the first league but on their quality, hence we decided to have only four teams. The first round of the first league will coincide with the start of the national league and the top two sides will automatically represent Bulawayo."
