Bangladesh A sneaked home by a narrow margin - just one wicket - in the first 'A' test against Zimbabwe. It was a team where, thanks to a pitch that was reportedly not really up-to-standard, neither side's batsmen put in a performance they could remotely be proud of. Zimbabwe's Sean Williams (63 & 32*) was the only player to pass 50, and with Bangaldesh's Tushar Imran (33 & 23) one of only 2 players to pass 30 - truly nothing to write home about.

A bad pitch for batsmen usually means a good pitch for bowlers, though, and Anthony Ireland made the most of the conditions, taking 10 wickets in the match (7/36 & 3/38). Graeme Cremer also had a good game for Zim (2/17 & 3/25), while Enamul Haque jnr did some good work for the home side during the first innings (5/21 & 0/15).

Some may say that as an extension to Zimbabwe's losing streak this result will add to the side's humiliation - but a 1-wicket loss is no drubbing, particularly when pitch conditions aren't up to standard.
