Zimbabwe A Earn Draw

Sean Williams was again the pick of the ZImbabweans, as the 2nd 'A' match against Bangladesh petered to a draw. Play for the final session of day four was abandoned by agreement, as it was clear there wasn't going to be a result reached.

Bangladesh had put on a respectable 380 for their first innings, led by Javed Omar's 173, but here again Zimbabwe had shown moments of good form with 5 of the Bangladeshis being removed while still in single figures. With Williams not bowling in this match, Elton Chigumbura (4/47) was the pick of the bunch, but with the most expensive of the Zimbabweans going for just 3.72/over (Trevor Garwe, 4/100) there was no shame there.

The worry, as usual, was Zimbabwe's batting - after a good start in the first innings, day two had seen another embarrassing collapse, with the final 5 wickets falling in the space of just 10 runs. There was none of that in Zimbabwe's second innings, though. Openers Tino Mawoyo and Tinashe Hove put on 90 for the 1st wicket, and the partnership of Williams and Chibhabha put on 138 for the 3rd wicket. Williams and Chigumbura saw out the rest of the match, finishing on 85 & 32 respectively and salvaging some pride for Zim from what has been a torrid series.
Zimbabwe A 293 & 290/3, Bangladesh A 380. Match Drawn. Check below the cut for the full scorecard.
