Update break…

I’ll be stuck without internet access for the next week - which unfortunately means I’ll be unable to give coverage of the remaining two ODIs against South Africa. I’ll be back online next weekend (1st August), and will do a summary update & post scorecards then.

ICC President Ray Mail (formerly Cricket South Africa chief executive) is currently in Zimbabwe, to discuss with ZC what can be done to help Zim’s ongoing rebuilding process. According to the man himself…
“I am here to get first-hand information so that I can be well-informed whenever I talk to my board about Zimbabwe in […]

…figuratively speaking, of course. After two Zimbabwe Select series where, one match excepted you wonder why the home team bothered to turn up, the 1st ODI against South Africa was actually a reasonable contest. Once again Zimbabwe’s batsmen let them down, but when defending a comparatively small total they looked keen and made […]

England v India: 1st ODI

England v India: 1st ODI England 288/2 (50 overs; Bell 126*, Khan 1/49), India 184 (50 overs; Dravid 46, Anderson 4/23). England win by 104 runs, lead series 1-0 with 6 to play.

The fixture list for the 2007/08 SAA Inter-Provincial series, which will feature a Zimbabwe Provinces side, has been released - you can find the details on our Fixtures page. Group matches will be played between October 2007 and February 2008, with finals in March 2008.
One notable change from the last time a Zimbabwe side […]

The South African squad for South Africa’s 3-ODI tour of Zim is:
Graeme Smith (Captain), Gulam Bodi, Loots Bosman, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Albie Morkel, Mornè Morkel, Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock, Dale Steyn, Thandi Tshabalala, Johan van der Wath

Very sketchy details on this one on ZC’s website, so place a question mark over the details. End result is okay, though. zimcricket.org has match reports from the four days of the match:
Day One | Day Two | Day Three | Day Four
Zimbabwe ‘A’ 279 (Chibhabha 98) & 196 (Chakabva 32), CSA Cricket […]

Netherlands v Bermuda: 2nd ODI

Netherlands v Bermuda: 2nd ODI Bermuda 115 (43.4 overs; Cann 21, Jonkman 3/23), Netherlands 116/2 (19.3 overs; Kervezee 50*, Leverock 1/19). Netherlands win by 8 wickets, win series 2-0.

The South African invasion continues - the CSA Cricket Academy are in Zim at the moment for a series of matches against Zimbabwe ‘A’. The first 4-day match ended on Saturday with an 8-wicket win for the visitors (more when I can dig up the details) - the remaining matches in the tour are:
20 […]
