ICC President Ray Mail (formerly Cricket South Africa chief executive) is currently in Zimbabwe, to discuss with ZC what can be done to help Zim’s ongoing rebuilding process. According to the man himself…
“I am here to get first-hand information so that I can be well-informed whenever I talk to my board about Zimbabwe in the future.”
As you’d expect, ZC chairman Peter Chingoka welcomed the visit:
“Before he took over the ICC, Ray was president of Cricket South Africa and we worked very well with him then. What is happening now is a continuation of that relationship because, as ICC president, he has said he wants to see the game taken to new heights in all the ten full member countries.”
Hint to ZC: if you want to improve the game’s standing, play your best side - even if that means having to suck up to some of the players who aren’t currently ‘making themselves available’ for the national side…
