Zimbabwe Out of World Twenty20

After England scored 135 in their innings, Australia would have needed to reach their target within 9.3 overs to allow Zimbabwe to progress on Net Run Rate. That didn't happen, so Zimbabwe now finish bottom of the group and are eliminated from the competition. More later.

They should change the rules to account for wickets, determination, and terrible bats!

But seriously the wickets should be included.

I was thinking about that - of the lost games, Engand lost by the largest margin, so surely they should be the ones eliminated...

But that's not the way it works, sadly. All the teams know in advance that run rate could be important, and Zim just couldn't work up a decent one against England - that's what cost them in the end...

It only logic!

Zim beats Aus by 5 wickets with overs near to end,
Eng beats Zim by 50 runs with overs equal and one batman left,
Aus beats Eng by 8 wicket with 5 overs to spare!

Now when reading that don't you think that system is a bit stuffed up!?

Maybe we should start a discussion on the development of a new system? I already have a few ideas! :)

well sorry guys but i think that run rate was good mean to determine the top 2 teams, why ZIM did not batted in accordance with that they have to keep up runrate? well wickets i dont think. T 20 is game to attract people towards cricket by making it more fast while if wickets would have been any mean , then teams must have been playing some kind of boring stuff, one should encourage players to play thier shots.
