C365 Interview Robin Brown

I somehow managed to miss this at the time (the interview was given during the West Indies series), but Cricket365 have an interview with Zim coach Robin Brown, in which Brown is refreshingly honest. For example, when asked if Zimbabwe were ready for a Test return...

"I don't think we're anywhere near there yet. I think the more of these four-day games we play the better we'll get. There has been an improvement - the concentration levels are rising, the bowlers are bowling better lines. But I don't think you become a Test player over 12 games. County players are playing that in a season and will have played quite a few more before they reach Test level."

He still has some hope for the game's administration in Zim:

"There's a lot of people with cricket at heart in the administration and they want to get it right. I think sometimes we might choose the wrong path - all of us make mistakes - but generally they've got cricket at heart for the players. When you look at the development prgramme going on in town, going to schools and sorting out grounds around the country, I think they've done a good job."

More good stuff in the C365 article, which is well worth a read.
